The massage therapy training program offers men and women exciting and rewarding career training in the healing arts. Career opportunities for massage therapists are unfolding as the public and the medical fields grow more aware of the value of natural means to maintain or restore health. Massage therapy is one of the pillars of natural health. The oldest written records of China, Egypt, and India record such therapeutics. What profession can claim to have better stood the test of time? The integrated, international program taught at the LaJames College / Massage Therapy School is committed to teach and develop effective massage therapists.

We believe that skilled and caring massage therapists are the key to widespread, professional recognition. Therefore, the massage therapist courses and training offered at The original "LaJames College" located in Mason City, Iowa, exceeds the established national standards in education for obtaining your massage therapy license. We have a lifetime placement service available to our graduates (in state, out of state and out of the country) As long as we are here, we will help - plain and simple. We also have a high teacher student ratio for that one on one attention when needed.

Upon completion of the 650 hour course, each student will have been exposed to the academic knowledge needed to comply with the requirements of the Iowa Department of Public Health, Bureau of Professional Licensure, Massage Therapy Board. Each student will then be eligible to apply to take the National Certification Examination for Therapeutic Massage and Body Work or the Federation of State Massage Therapy Boards Exam. Upon successful completion of that examination, graduates may apply for a state massage therapy license where available. Licensure boards decide which certifications and tests to accept on a state-by-state basis.
